Education/Qualifications To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Current Kentucky Master License, PLUS six (6) years of verifiable related work experience and proof of completion of an apprenticeship training program registered within Kentucky. Verifiable recent and appropriate experience in the electrical industry Skilled in the knowledge and use of the current national Electric Code Thorough knowledge of electricity including transformers, PLCs, 3 phase wiring. Position Information
IEC is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of: First Year and Third Year Apprenticeship Instructor, two evenings a week are required from September through February. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach electromechanical skills, electrical theories and concepts, safety concepts along with application of standards and related courses as outlined within the IEC curriculum. Design, facilitate and revise activities and curriculum. Promote continuous quality improvement of curriculum and program operations to increase program effectiveness. Work cooperatively with IEC staff Continuously evaluate student progress providing formative and summative feedback through formal and informal means. Assist with marketing and recruiting for the program Provide applications based learning activities that accommodate a variety of learning styles Develop and maintain good working rapport with a wide variety of students, advisory committees and industry Supervise and maintain lab/shop areas Other duties as assigned
